The week started out innocently enough. Sydney's friend Leah spent the weekend at our house while her parents had a getaway. They planned a wonderful ball. They decorated the basement, picked out clothes for them, and John and I. Sent us an invitation, got the music, etc. We had a wonderful time at the ball. It really was great to see all of these cute decorations they had made, and the planning that went into this dance.

A few days later Sydney had a birthday party for a friend to go to. They were ice skating, and Sydney could not wait. She has been wanting to ice skate for a long time. I told her she would fall quite a few times, but it wouldn't hurt! The mom, Suzie, called me after the party had started, and said Sydney fell, and might have hurt her ankle. I said OK and asked John to go pick her up. After an hour they still weren't back, and no one was answering their phones there, and I was starting to cry because I am a woman, and I am emotional. Anyway, they finally came home and John said he thought she had broken her leg. Well, the rest of this long story short is we spent the night in the ER. She has a spiral break on her tibia. They didn't dare cast it there because they wanted us to see an orthepedic surgeon first. She is in a full leg cast for 4 weeks, and then hopefully a walking cast for another few weeks.

She is a total trooper. She is handling it like a champ. So much I could learn from her. We are now both waiting for the day we can have a ball again, and Cinderella is back up dancing.
